Health-X Innovation Program: Our Project Moves into the Next Round
We are pleased to share that our project has been selected for the second funding phase of the Health-X innovation program. During the first phase, we further developed our concept for the European health data space together with experts from the Health-X Data Loft, with a particular focus on integration into the Gaia-X and Health-X data space infrastructure. We also created an initial technical proof of concept using X-ray images for pneumonia detection as an exemplary use case. It demonstrates the feasibility of our decentralized approach, where valuable insights can be derived from health data while the data itself remains securely with the participating organizations.
We presented this progress and our plan for the second funding phase at the Health-X Innovation Forum on September 10, 2024 and were able to convince the jury. You can read more about our first pitch in Berlin on May 2, 2024 here. In this phase, we receive funding of 50,000 EUR administered by Charite Universitaetsmedizin Berlin. These funds will enable us to further develop our prototype and continue the integration into the Health-X Data Loft.
The collaboration within the Health-X dataLOFT consortium, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, has proven extremely valuable. The exchange with 14 partners, including renowned institutions such as Charite Universitaetsmedizin Berlin, Fraunhofer ISST, Fraunhofer MEVIS, and the Hasso Plattner Institute, has made a significant contribution to our progress so far.
Qualifying for the second funding phase brings us a major step closer to our goal of contributing meaningfully to the European Health Data Space. We are excited to tackle the next challenges, keep pushing the project forward over the coming months, and thank everyone involved for their trust and support.
